IRIS-GMK is a KiwiSaver scheme for union members and their spouses, children and parents.
- Everyone who joins KiwiSaver gets a one-off $1,000 grant from the government. Yes, even newborn babies and people who are not working.
- The government will match what you put into KiwiSaver, up to a maximum of $1,042 per year ($20 per week equivalent). Sorry, not for under 18s.
- KiwiSaver is now more affordable for workers because the minimum contribution from salary and wages has been reduced from 4% to 2%.
- Your employer is required to put in 2% of your salary or wage, if you put in at least 2% yourself. Not for under 18s.
- Join or transfer to IRIS-GMK and we‘ll give you a one-off $20 fee rebate after you have been with us for six months. (Available to union members and their spouses, children and parents.)
- You can join Kiwisaver if you are aged between 0 and 65; you are a New Zealand citizen or entitled to live in New Zealand permanently; and you live in New Zealand.
